This story's protagonist is a sad donkey who lives at the foot of a weeping willow ... and when the willow weeps so does the donkey. One fine day the donkey decides that he is sick of so much sorrow and takes off. As soon as he sets out, we witness the birth of a hero: Donkey will soon find himself part of the popular tale of a well-known lady mouse, whom he tries to help with humor and cleverness. Along the way he will discover his own talent for disguise and his ability to work magic spells. Eventually he will rewrite his own history, the origin of his legend.
